Investment Scorecard
Composite score 61.2/100 (previous 61.5). Every factor is scored out of 10, ten always being the best outcome, including for risk.
| Factor | Score | Weight | Change | Basis |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Business Quality | 7/10 | 16% | unchanged | About 40% adjusted EBITDA margin and fast growth, but almost all revenue comes from one segment, the AI cloud. |
| Financial Strength | 6/10 | 16% | -1 vs last report | The 2026 build is funded; 2027-28 must be financed in a costlier credit market for AI infrastructure borrowers. |
| Competitive Advantage | 6/10 | 16% | unchanged | Strong software layer and a top-tier independent cluster rating, but price increases reflect an industry-wide shortage. |
| Management | 7/10 | 10% | unchanged | Guidance reaffirmed and financing well timed; insider sale notices continue. |
| Growth Potential | 9/10 | 16% | unchanged | 5GW contracted-power target and more than 1GW of new capacity a year from 2027; formal 2027 guidance pending. |
| Valuation | 4/10 | 16% | unchanged | Price and value fell together; the shares sit within 5% of the $177 base case. |
| Risk (10 = lowest risk) | 3/10 | 10% | -1 vs last report | Funding-cost, pricing and dilution risks all higher after the October repricing of AI infrastructure credit. |
Recent Developments
| Date | Development | Impact |
|---|---|---|
| Rotterdam AI campus letter of intent with Volt Reported letter of intent for Nebius to be first tenant at a planned 600MW Rotterdam campus; first phase two 100MW buildings and about EUR 7bn of investment. Nebius's share of capacity and terms not disclosed. Reading: Potentially larger than AIB but not binding and unsized; no weight in the numbers until terms are signed. | Medium | |
| On-demand list-price increase in effect Nvidia GPU hourly list prices up 17-21%, with AMD vCPU and memory also higher, effective 1 October as announced; no reversal reported. Reading: Sized at about 1-5% of 2027 revenue because most revenue runs through fixed-price contracts. | Medium | |
| AIB Data Centers 50MW capacity contract Binding agreement for 50MW of critical IT capacity at AIB's south-east US site, 12-year initial term, two data halls, backed by a 15-year 65MW power agreement. No contract value or delivery date disclosed. Reading: About 1% of the 5GW contracted-power target and worth roughly $1.0-1.25bn over 12 years at management's mid-term yield (our estimate); evidence that the partner model works rather than a change to 2027 numbers. | Medium | |
| Formal 2027 guidance pending Promised on the second-quarter call for later in 2026; expected with third-quarter results in mid-November, date not yet announced. Reading: The single largest pending catalyst; guidance above $12bn with funding on reasonable terms would lift the base case enough to buy near today's price. | Medium | |
| Inferize acquisition Company release: inference optimisation company joins the Token Factory platform to cut model cold-start times; terms not disclosed. Reading: A small capability purchase with no disclosed financial effect. | Low | |
| Rated Platinum in SemiAnalysis ClusterMAX 3.0 Nebius was placed in the top Platinum tier of the independent GPU-cloud rating. Reading: Helps win contracts from model builders; no financial effect on its own. | Low |
Key Risks
| Risk | Probability | Severity | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Depreciation keeps GAAP results negative | High | High | Q2 depreciation and amortisation was about 45% of revenue on an asset base still growing. |
| AI demand sentiment | Medium | High | Questions over a major model developer's revenue hit the whole group on 9-14 October. |
| Customer concentration | Medium | High | A few contracts above $1bn each with large technology customers. |
| Dilution | High | Medium | At-the-market equity sales and convertible notes add shares. |
| Share price volatility | High | Medium | Average daily range of about 8.7% of price. |
| Site execution and permitting | Medium | Medium | Vineland stop orders in August; Rotterdam still a letter of intent. |
| Cost of capital for the 2027-28 build | High | Very High | Raised. CoreWeave bonds traded near 15% on 14 October and the Fed is weighing a second increase on 27-28 October. |
| Compute pricing rolls over as supply lands | Medium | Very High | Two list increases so far, but industry capacity grows fast in 2027-28. |
Scenario Analysis
| Case | Probability | Fair Value | Outlook |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bull | 25% | $294 | 2027 revenue near $14bn as capacity lands on schedule, short-term pricing holds and the October increase sticks, with financing open at moderate cost; 6.5x revenue on 310m shares. |
| Base | 50% | $177 | 2027 revenue near $11bn as connected power converts through the first half and about 1GW follows, at mid-term pricing and dearer financing; 5.0x revenue on 310m shares. |
| Bear | 25% | $60 | 2027 revenue near $7.5bn as credit stays tight, the build slows and pricing softens, with more equity issued; 2.5x revenue on 310m shares. |
The Case
Nebius is executing: a binding 12-year capacity contract, a Rotterdam letter of intent and the October price increase in effect. But the shares fell 24% for a reason that also lowers the value, because the money for the 2027-28 build now costs more, and the base case is $177, just below the price. The biggest concern is financing the next gigawatts, not demand for them; near $150, or on 2027 guidance above $12bn with funding on reasonable terms, the answer changes.
